About Us

About: First Step Recovery House, Inc.

Helping Those Suffering From Addiction

Our purpose is to provide a safe and structured living environment to those who suffer from drug/alcohol addiction, so they may become healthy and productive members of the community. First Step Recovery House began in 2007 by a man in recovery himself, Mark Cross. Mark had a vision that he could give back to the community by helping those still suffering from addiction by providing a safe, structured environment that focuses on developing personal growth through healthy living patterns and teaching personal responsibility. It is our mission to facilitate adults who are suffering from addiction, a residential treatment environment that is focused around the understanding of addiction as a treatable, chronic disease. First Step endorses participation in 12 Step groups and other community-based recovery services as a critical component in the establishment of recovery from addiction.

Here at First Step we are earnest in our belief in treating the individual. In our program, you will find a supportive, caring atmosphere that focuses on spiritually based genuine interactions that foster connections . We approach addiction as a human disease that impacts a person's mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Our team is not here to cast judgment, we are here to serve! We provide a low intensity environment aimed to furnish continued care for those struggling to maintain sobriety outside of an inpatient treatment setting. First Step helps our members with individual and group counseling, communal activities, case management and community integration. Fist Step recommends a 3 12 month commitment from members to promote the likelihood of a successful recovery.

Vision: First Step Recovery House

Guiding You On The Right Path

First Step Recovery House has a vision that our members come to believe that there is purpose in their lives, and it can be found by taking that First Step in Recovery. Our Program helps them to understand their individual strengths while studying the 12 Steps of Recovery. We guide them on a path to help them comprehend who they are, their personal power, their personal purpose and to believe in a power greater than themselves.

Our Members once graduated from our program will be able to reconnect with the community with self-esteem, self confidence, personal responsibility and be able to have a sense of spiritual awareness. Its is our belief that without the connection to a power that is greater than one’s self, that a successful recovery from addiction would be near impossible. We also believe a safe, structured and supportive environment is a key component in recovery, and that our members in recovery sustain that necessary level of supportiveness, understanding and caring atmosphere in which they begin to grow.
