Founded in 2007 by individuals in recovery, First Step Recovery House, Inc. was built on a shared vision to serve—creating a safe, structured, and supportive community for those seeking hope, healing, and a path to lasting recovery from addiction.

Our Mission

At First Step Recovery, our mission is to provide a structured residential environment that fosters healing, personal growth, and lasting recovery. We see addiction as a coping mechanism—rather than a reflection of a person’s identity. At First Step Recovery we design our programs to offer encouragement, accountability and the tools needed to build a sustainable and fulfilling, healthy life. Through daily routines, life skills training, and peer-supported activities, residents strengthen their sense of connection, responsibility and confidence.

First Step Recovery endorses participation in 12-Step programs and other community-based recovery services as a cornerstone of successful recovery. By combining a structured living environment with engagement in positive support networks, we empower individuals to build new relationships, develop healthy habits, gain tools to make positive choices, and establish a foundation for lasting sobriety. Our goal is to help each person take meaningful steps toward independence, self-worth, and a renewed sense of purpose while providing the resources and community needed to thrive.
